Obituary

Richard Jess Avila, lovingly known as “Boogie,” passed away on June 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of deep love, loyalty, and unforgettable presence. He was born on October 3, 1981, in Riverside, California, where he was raised and built strong roots with his family and friends.
Richard was a man who felt everything deeply. Though he carried a tough exterior, those who truly knew him understood the size of his heart. He was fiercely loyal, protective of those he loved, and always willing to show up when it mattered most. His love was not quiet—it was strong, unwavering, and real.
He was a devoted son, a proud father and grandfather, a loving brother, uncle, and a true friend to many. Richard had a way of making people feel seen and protected, and his presence brought comfort even in silence. His laughter, his humor, and the way he could light up a room will never be forgotten.
Richard is now reunited in heaven with his beloved older brother, Ralph, whose bond with him was unbreakable, and with his father, Ralph Avila Sr. Together again, their spirits carry on side by side.
He is survived by his loving family, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his love remains a constant presence in the lives of those who knew him.
Richard’s life reminds us that love runs deeper than words, and that even the strongest hearts can carry so much.
He loved deeply, and was loved beyond measure. A heart so big, it carried us all.
We Miss you more than you will ever know.
Love,
MOM, ERICA, DANIEL, AND ALL THE KIDS
